New Delhi, June 13: Sugs Lloyd Ltd has secured letters of award (LoAs) worth approximately ₹56.57 crore (excluding GST) from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (NBPDCL) for setting up grid-connected rooftop solar projects under the Centre’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
According to a regulatory filing, the company will develop a cumulative capacity of 16 MW of rooftop solar projects across the Chapra Circle of NBPDCL in Bihar under the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model.
The projects will be executed under a combination of CAPEX and RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) modes as part of the government’s flagship programme aimed at promoting distributed solar generation and reducing household electricity costs.
Sugs Lloyd said the contracts have been awarded by NBPDCL, a Government of Bihar undertaking, and the company received intimation of the awards through email on June 13.
Under the terms of the contract, the projects are to be commissioned within nine months from the signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA). The overall contract period will extend for 10 years from the commercial operation date (COD), providing long-term revenue visibility.
The order marks another addition to Sugs Lloyd’s renewable energy portfolio and strengthens its presence in the rapidly expanding rooftop solar segment, which has received a significant boost under the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
The company’s latest win comes amid increasing investments in distributed solar infrastructure and the government’s push to accelerate clean energy adoption across households and utility networks.
The order, valued at around ₹56.57 crore, was received in the ordinary course of business and is expected to contribute to the company’s execution pipeline over the coming years.
