Announced on October 17, 2026, the contract covers proposed new broad-gauge line construction, track doubling and multi-tracking projects. It has been awarded under the jurisdiction of the Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), Southern Railway, Egmore, Chennai.
The assignment is scheduled for completion within 36 months from the issuance of the Letter of Acceptance, subject to approvals from the relevant government authorities.
Order covers railway capacity expansion planning
The scope includes traffic surveys to assess railway movement requirements, final location surveys to establish proposed alignment details, and preparation of DPRs to support project planning.
The assignments will support Southern Railway’s proposed infrastructure expansion through new lines and additional track capacity. The work involves the surveying and engineering consultancy stages of these projects rather than the physical construction of railway lines.

The ₹51.20 crore contract adds a multi-year railway consultancy assignment to the company’s project pipeline. Revenue recognition and profitability will depend on execution progress, contractual milestones, project costs and the approvals required for the work.
