March 2026:
Manaksia Steels Limited has announced plans to expand its production capacity for cold rolled coils at its Haldia facility in West Bengal, in line with its growth and market expansion strategy.
The company will undertake the expansion by installing a 6-Hi Reversible Cold Rolling Mill at the existing unit.
Capacity to see sharp increase
Currently, the Haldia plant has a production capacity of 1,20,000 tonnes per annum, with utilisation levels at approximately 82%. The proposed expansion will add 2,50,000 tonnes per annum, taking the total installed capacity to 3,70,000 tonnes per annum.
Investment and timeline
The project will involve an investment of around ₹100 crore, which will be funded through a mix of debt and internal accruals. The capacity addition is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of FY2027-28.
Growth strategy
The company said the expansion is aimed at meeting rising captive demand as well as increasing sales in both domestic and international markets. The move is expected to strengthen Manaksia Steels’ presence in the cold rolled steel segment and support its long-term growth trajectory.
