Lords Chloro Alkali Announces Major Capacity Expansion Across Caustic Soda, Sulphuric Acid and Solar Power Operations

Lords Chloro Alkali Ltd has unveiled an extensive multi-segment expansion plan aimed at strengthening its chemical manufacturing capabilities and reducing power costs through enhanced renewable energy capacity. The company will increase its caustic soda production, set up a new sulphuric acid plant, and expand its solar power installation in Rajasthan for captive consumption.

The company currently operates a 300 TPD caustic soda and allied chemicals facility at Alwar, Rajasthan, running at a utilisation rate of 80–90%. As part of its growth strategy, Lords Chloro Alkali will add 100 TPD of additional caustic soda capacity at the same location. The project is targeted for completion by the end of the third quarter of FY 2026–27. The estimated investment of ₹60 crore will be funded through internal accruals and bank financing. The company stated that the expansion will enhance economies of scale, improve fixed-cost efficiency, boost product availability, and enable better chlorine utilisation.

In a significant forward integration move, the company will also commission a new 100 TPD sulphuric acid plant in FY 2027–28. Categorised as an industrial chemical and intermediate, the product will be supplied to the domestic market, supporting India’s growing requirements for essential chemical building blocks.

In addition, Lords Chloro Alkali will substantially increase its renewable energy portfolio by expanding its solar power plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The company currently operates a fully-utilised 16.5 MW DC solar facility and now plans to add 21 MW DC of new capacity. The solar expansion is expected to be completed by May 2026 at an investment of approximately ₹65 crore, also funded through internal accruals and bank borrowings. The expanded solar capacity will significantly reduce power costs for its energy-intensive chemical operations at Alwar.

With these expansions, Lords Chloro Alkali aims to strengthen its domestic market position, support sustainable manufacturing, and meet rising demand across its product segments.
