Jaipur, May 7, 2026: Gravita India Limited has announced plans to establish a copper recycling facility in Mandvi, Gujarat, as part of its strategy to expand its non-ferrous metals recycling portfolio and strengthen its circular economy operations.
The proposed plant will involve a capital expenditure of approximately ₹160 crore and will have an installed recycling capacity of around 29,400 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA).
According to the company, the facility will use advanced recycling technologies aimed at achieving higher metal recovery rates, consistent product quality and compliance with environmental standards.
Commercial operations at the plant are expected to commence within the next 12 months. The project will be funded through internal accruals. Gravita India Limited said the Mandvi location was selected due to its strategic logistics connectivity and infrastructure advantages.
The company stated that the new plant is expected to enhance vertical integration in its metals business, improve value-added product offerings and cater to rising domestic and export demand for recycled copper products.
The recycling facility is also expected to generate operational synergies across procurement, logistics and sales while contributing positively to revenue growth and profitability.
In addition, the project is anticipated to create employment opportunities in the region and support environmental sustainability by increasing the use of recycled copper and reducing carbon emissions. The expansion further strengthens Gravita’s position in sustainable recycling solutions and aligns with India’s broader focus on resource efficiency and circular economy initiatives.
