Vraj Iron and Steel Limited has approved plans to set up a new rolling mill at its Bilaspur plant to manufacture TMT bars, with an installed capacity of 1,50,000 tonnes per annum.
The company’s Board of Directors cleared the proposal at its meeting held on February 24, 2026. The project is estimated to cost around ₹35 crore, excluding applicable GST, though the final project cost may vary by up to 15%. The new facility is expected to be commissioned during the financial year 2026–27.
Currently, the company operates a plant in Raipur with an installed capacity of 54,000 tonnes per annum and a capacity utilisation of about 81.22%.
The investment will primarily be funded through internal accruals. Additionally, the company may raise up to ₹10 crore through short-term unsecured loans from promoters at an interest rate of 7.5% per annum, if required.
According to the company, the new rolling mill is aimed at strengthening its presence in the TMT bar segment, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting future revenue and profitability growth.
