Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL), one of India’s leading renewable energy EPC players, has secured its second international project in South Africa this fiscal year, with the award of a 240 MW AC turnkey solar PV project valued at approximately USD 147 million (₹1,313 crore).
With this latest win, SWREL is now executing four turnkey solar PV projects in South Africa for four different developers, reinforcing its growing footprint in one of the world’s fastest-expanding solar markets. The company said that the two projects awarded in the previous fiscal year have made strong operational progress, helping establish its credentials in the region, while the two new projects secured in recent months further strengthen its market position.
South Africa’s solar PV market continues to see robust growth driven by increasing corporate demand for energy security, declining solar tariffs, and the need to stabilise the national power grid.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited, said the company was pleased to secure its second South African order within a span of two months. He noted that South Africa remains a key international market for SWREL, and the strong order inflows reflect the company’s value proposition and execution capabilities.
With this project win, SWREL’s total EPC order inflows for the current fiscal have crossed ₹5,088 crore, with management indicating that the order momentum continues to remain robust both in domestic and international markets.
