Silkflex Polymers (India) Ltd, a leading supplier of high-performance textile printing inks and auxiliaries, has commenced commercial production at its first manufacturing facility in India, located in Vadodara, Gujarat. The state-of-the-art automated plant marks a significant milestone for the company as it expands into domestic manufacturing with its flagship products, Silkbond 35 and Silkflex Glue.
The facility represents a major forward integration for Silkflex Polymers India, strengthening its position in the specialty textile chemicals sector and reducing reliance on imports of high-performance, eco-friendly binders and glues. Built with a total investment of ₹40 crore, the plant has an installed production capacity of 500 tonnes per month, with provisions for future modular expansion.
Equipped with advanced automation, the facility operates through a boiler-less manufacturing process, a rare achievement in the textile chemicals industry that reduces safety risks, energy consumption, and emissions. The plant incorporates precision process controls to ensure high-throughput, consistent quality, and minimal human intervention.
Reflecting Silkflex’s sustainability-first approach, the products are zero-discharge, and the site includes both effluent and sewage treatment plants with a combined capacity of 25,000 litres per day. The unit also features a large surrounding greenfield area designed to promote environmental balance and long-term energy efficiency.
Strategically located within a major industrial zone with direct access to state highways, the plant enjoys strong connectivity to key textile hubs such as Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and the broader western India textile belt—offering improved logistics, shorter supply timelines, and faster customer servicing.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Tushar Lalit Kumar Sanghavi, Chairman and Managing Director, said the facility marks the beginning of a “new and exciting growth phase” for Silkflex Polymers India. “Built across 10 acres with a highly automated, boiler-less and eco-efficient design, this facility strengthens our capability to deliver world-class, environmentally responsible products to the textile industry. With a capacity of 500 tonnes a month, we are fully equipped to meet rising demand across major textile hubs while reducing dependence on imports,” he said.
The company expects the new plant to significantly enhance production capabilities, improve responsiveness to domestic markets, and drive sustainable long-term growth
