Servotech Renewable to Install India’s Largest Airside EV Charging Hub at Bengaluru Airport

Servotech Renewable Power System Limited has announced a landmark order from Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) to set up an ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The new EV charging hub will feature 10 high-capacity DC chargers of 240 kW each, making it India’s first and largest airside EV charging installation.

With a combined installed capacity of 2.4 MW, the charging station is designed to power airside electric transport vehicles, including buses shuttling passengers between terminals and aircraft. This strategic initiative supports the airport’s push towards sustainability by enabling 24/7 EV operations and reducing transportation-related carbon emissions.

Comprehensive Scope of Work

Under the agreement, Servotech Renewable will handle the complete project lifecycle, including the supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and five-year maintenance of the EV charging infrastructure. The station will be located within the airport’s operational area to ensure quick vehicle turnaround times and uninterrupted e-transport services.

Strategic Sustainability Milestone

This project aligns with Karnataka’s ambition to become a carbon-negative state and reinforces Bengaluru Airport’s commitment to environmental leadership. Electrifying airside operations represents a major shift in sustainable airport infrastructure, marking a significant step in India’s broader clean energy transition.
