NDR Auto Components Limited (NDR Auto) has entered into a 50-50 Joint Venture (JV) with Hayashi Telempu, a leading Japanese company renowned for its innovative automotive solutions. The JV aims to bring a range of disruptive and innovative automotive offerings to the Indian market, leveraging the expertise and capabilities of both companies.
The two companies will equally invest ₹33.30 crore to establish the JV, marking a significant step toward expanding the scope of auto components and technologies available to Indian consumers. Hayashi Telempu, with a global sales figure of $ 2.1 billion in 2024, is known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and customized solutions tailored to the needs of automotive manufacturers. The company produces over 10 million units annually, many of which are focused on noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) control, significantly enhancing cabin comfort and contributing to a quieter and more pleasant driving experience.
The partnership will see NDR Auto leverage its deep experience and established relationships in the Indian auto components sector to introduce Hayashi Telempu’s innovative products to the market.
In an exciting development, the JV has already secured its first order from Toyota for its Ambient Lighting solutions. The Ambient Lighting portfolio includes vehicle-mounted illumination such as interior lighting for the shift lever, headliner, and door trim, as well as lighting solutions for the instrument panel—all designed to enhance the driving experience by offering a more comfortable and visually appealing cabin environment.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Pranav Relan, Whole Time Director at NDR Auto, said, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Hayashi Telempu to introduce these exciting and innovative products to India. Our shared goal is to improve the driving experience for Indian consumers, and we look forward to exploring opportunities to manufacture some of these products locally as we expand our presence in the country.”
Hayashi Telempu, with a workforce of over 3,700 employees, including more than 400 in-house engineers, operates from 40 locations worldwide, underscoring its strong global presence and technical capabilities. This partnership represents a strategic move by NDR Auto to tap into the growing demand for high-quality, advanced automotive solutions in India, particularly in the areas of ambient lighting and NVH control.
The JV marks the beginning of a promising collaboration between two established players in the automotive sector, with significant potential for growth and innovation in India’s automotive market.
