Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL) has reported a series of significant order wins and strategic developments across its wagon manufacturing, electric mobility, and railwheel divisions, reinforcing the company’s growing presence in India’s transportation and clean-energy ecosystem.
₹242 Crore Wagon Order From GATX
JWL secured a ₹242 crore contract from GATX for the supply of 583 wagons, further strengthening its position as a key supplier in the domestic and international freight mobility market.
Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM) Expands Product Line and Network
The company’s electric mobility arm, Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), announced multiple milestones:
- Launch of Modular Containerised BESS: JEM introduced modular 10-ft and 20-ft containerised Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with capacities ranging from 241 kWh to 3 MWh. Designed for diesel generator replacement, solar storage, and backup applications, the first 10-ft unit has already been supplied to Greenlit in partnership with GMMCO. The first export-bound 20-ft unit, featuring liquid-cooled grid-scale technology, is currently in the pipeline.
- Dealership Expansion: The company opened six new dealerships in Hyderabad, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Thiruvananthapuram, marking a significant step in strengthening its national footprint.
- Launch of JEM TEZ eLCV: JEM unveiled the JEM TEZ, a 1.05-ton electric light commercial vehicle offering a certified driving range of more than 300 km, bolstering its sustainable mobility portfolio.
- ₹113 Crore Axle Order: The company received an order worth ₹113 crore from the Ministry of Railways for 9,000 LHB axles, underscoring its role in India’s rail modernisation push.
- ₹215 Crore Wheelset LoI: JWL received a Letter of Intent valued at ₹215 crore for supplying 5,376 wheelsets for the Vande Bharat train project.
- Odisha Wheel & Axle Facility on Track: Development of its upcoming wheel and axle manufacturing facility in Odisha is progressing as planned. With an investment of ₹2,500 crore, the plant is expected to produce 100,000 forged wheelsets annually by 2027 under the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
