November 13, 2025: Hi-Tech Pipes Limited (NSE: HITECH, BSE: 543411), one of India’s leading manufacturers of steel pipes, tubes and value-added steel products, has laid the foundation stone for its new Greenfield Manufacturing Project in Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, near Bengaluru. The development marks a significant milestone in the company’s long-term strategy to scale its total installed capacity to 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The foundation stone was laid by Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, underscoring the state’s commitment to fostering industrial growth, manufacturing expansion, and investment-led development.
The new Greenfield facility will specialise in value-added coated steel products, a high-margin segment central to the company’s growth strategy. With an installed capacity of 1,50,000 tonnes per annum, the project represents a capital outlay of ₹100 crore, funded entirely through internal accruals—a reflection of Hi-Tech Pipes’ strong financial discipline and robust cash generation.
Strategically located in Hindupur’s industrial hub, the facility will significantly enhance the company’s reach across Southern and Western India. The location is expected to improve logistics efficiency, reduce delivery times, and enhance customer service levels. The project is targeted for completion by Q2 FY28, after which it will contribute meaningfully to capacity, product diversification, and overall scale.
The expansion forms part of Hi-Tech Pipes’ broader capacity augmentation roadmap. The company currently operates with a capacity of 0.75 MTPA, which is set to increase by 0.30 MTPA in Q3 FY26 through ongoing expansion initiatives. With current utilisation at 66%, near peak operational levels, the additional capacity is expected to support growing demand across its core segments.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Ajay Kumar Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director, said:
“We are delighted to lay the foundation for our Greenfield Manufacturing Project at Hindupur—a landmark development in our journey toward achieving 2 million tonnes of total capacity. This project represents not just expansion but a leap toward value creation through advanced coated products and technological excellence.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu for laying the foundation stone and for fostering a positive industrial ecosystem that enables long-term investment. The Hindupur facility will play a pivotal role in strengthening our southern market presence, diversifying our product portfolio, and enhancing operational efficiency. We are confident this milestone will accelerate our path to sustainable growth and deliver lasting value to our customers, partners, and shareholders.”
