Fujiyama Power Systems Commissions 1 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant in Uttar Pradesh

Fujiyama Power Systems Limited (BSE: 544613 | NSE: UTLSOLAR) has announced the commissioning of its 1 GW solar cell manufacturing plant at Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, marking a major milestone in the company’s backward integration strategy across the solar value chain.

The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and Mr. Rajesh Kulhari, Joint Secretary, MNRE. With this development, Fujiyama deepens its manufacturing capabilities and strengthens its position as one of India’s leading rooftop solar solution providers.

Fujiyama currently operates a total solar panel manufacturing capacity of 1.6 GW, of which 1.2 GW is based at Dadri. The newly commissioned 1 GW solar cell capacity will be used entirely for captive consumption, ensuring greater supply-chain security and reducing reliance on imported solar cells.

The new plant will manufacture Mono PERC DCR solar cells, enabling the company to cater to rising domestic demand driven by government subsidy programs. The project has been completed with a total investment of ₹300 crore, funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt.

Commenting on the commissioning, Pawan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Joint Managing Director, said that the project represents a significant step toward full manufacturing integration. He highlighted that the plant was completed in just six months, faster than industry norms, and with cost efficiencies compared to the original budget.

He added that in-house cell manufacturing will improve visibility and control across the supply chain, enhance reliability for panel operations, and insulate the company from global trade uncertainties and tariff-related risks. With its primary focus on the domestic market, Fujiyama expects the new facility to strengthen its competitive advantage and support its long-term growth strategy in end-to-end solar solutions across India.
