Diamond Power Infra wins ₹436 crore order for Hyderabad data centre projects

Mumbai, July 5: Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd (DPIL) has secured a ₹435.71 crore order to supply high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) power cables for a 310 MW data centre campus in Hyderabad, marking one of the company’s largest orders in the fast-growing data centre segment.

The order has been awarded by Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Sterling and Wilson Ltd, and Blue Star Ltd for the HYD22 to HYD26 data centre projects, according to a regulatory filing by the company.

Under the contract, Diamond Power will supply about 21.35 lakh metres of HT and LT power cables, including 1.89 lakh metres of HT cables and 19.46 lakh metres of LT cables. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the first week of August 2026 and will be completed in phases by March 2027.

The contract is valued at ₹435.71 crore, excluding GST, with pricing linked to the IEEMA price variation formula using April 2026 indices as the base.

The order comes amid a surge in investments in India’s data centre industry, where rapid adoption of cloud computing, artificial intelligence and digital services is driving demand for power infrastructure.

Data centres require extensive electrical networks comprising high-tension feeders, transformers, switchgear and low-tension distribution systems, making cables a critical component of project execution. Hyderabad has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing data centre hubs alongside Mumbai, Chennai and the National Capital Region, attracting investments from global hyperscalers and domestic operators.

Commenting on the development, Umesh Chayya, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing at Diamond Power Infrastructure, said data centres have become one of the strongest growth drivers for the Indian cable industry. He said the order validates the company’s manufacturing capabilities, quality standards and execution track record for mission-critical infrastructure projects, adding that it is among the largest power cable orders secured for a data centre project in the country.

Diamond Power Infrastructure manufactures low, medium, high, and extra-high-voltage power cables, control and instrumentation cables, fire-resistant cables, solar DC cables, EV charging cables and conductors. Its products cater to sectors including power transmission, infrastructure, renewable energy, oil and gas, real estate and data centres.

The latest order adds to the company’s order book as India’s digital infrastructure build-out gathers pace, with the expansion of hyperscale facilities expected to support sustained demand for specialised power cables over the coming years.
