Canarys Automations wins ₹9.85 crore Greater Noida storm water management contract

Mumbai: Canarys Automations Limited has secured a ₹9.85 crore contract from the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority to prepare a digital twin-based storm water management plan for Greater Noida, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The 12-month contract, valued at ₹9.84 crore, marks the first phase of GNIDA’s Comprehensive Storm Water Management Programme. Under the engagement, Canarys will provide consulting services and develop digital twin-based solutions, including a detailed storm water design and resolution plan aimed at addressing urban flooding and waterlogging challenges across Greater Noida.

As part of the project, the Bengaluru-based company will undertake drone-based LiDAR surveys, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, and deploy Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled monitoring systems and artificial intelligence (AI)-based design studies. The assignment also includes preparing a digital twin model of Greater Noida that will enable authorities to simulate flood scenarios, assess infrastructure risks and support long-term urban planning.

According to the company, the project is intended to create a 25-year roadmap for storm water management as Greater Noida continues to expand. The scope also includes deploying technologies such as 80 GHz microwave radar water-level sensors, smart 4G telemetry loggers and integrated one-dimensional and two-dimensional hydraulic simulation models.

The company said Phase A of the project, including surveys, equipment deployment and delivery of the digital twin platform, must be completed before subsequent phases can commence.

Commenting on the order, Srinivas Rao, Assistant Vice President at Canarys Automations, said the project validates the company’s water resources management and climate technology capabilities. He added that the order builds on the company’s earlier flood warning and reservoir automation projects in Gorakhpur and Chennai and strengthens its position in technology-driven public infrastructure projects.

Canarys Automations Limited provides digital transformation, engineering and technology solutions across sectors including manufacturing, utilities and public infrastructure. In recent years, the company has expanded its presence in climate technology, water resources management, digital twin platforms, IoT-based monitoring systems and AI-enabled decision support solutions for government and industrial clients.
