Ameenji Rubber Ltd has secured a contract worth ₹47.47 crore from Eastern Railway for the manufacture and supply of composite grooved rubber pads used in railway infrastructure projects.
The company announced on July 29 that it had received a letter of acceptance (LOA) from the office of the principal chief materials manager of Eastern Railway, Kolkata, for the execution of the order over a period of 18 months.
According to the company, the contract is valued at ₹47,46,50,280, including goods and services tax (GST). The order has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve any related-party transaction.
Composite grooved rubber pads are critical components used in railway track systems to absorb vibrations, reduce noise levels and minimise wear and tear caused by the movement of trains. These components help improve passenger comfort while enhancing the durability and operational efficiency of railway infrastructure.
The latest order is expected to strengthen Ameenji Rubber’s order book and reinforce its position as a supplier of specialised rubber products to the rail transportation sector.
Indian Railways has been investing heavily in the modernisation and expansion of its network, creating significant opportunities for manufacturers of components used in track construction and maintenance. Demand for advanced materials designed to improve safety, reliability and operational efficiency has risen steadily as infrastructure spending has increased.
Ameenji Rubber manufactures a range of engineered rubber products catering to multiple industries, including railways, infrastructure and industrial applications. The company has focused on expanding its manufacturing capabilities and increasing its participation in government-led infrastructure projects.
The Eastern Railway contract is expected to provide stable revenue visibility for the company over the next year and a half while strengthening its presence in the railway supply chain.
