Amber Group, through its electronic division IL JIN Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., has entered into definitive agreements to acquire a controlling stake in Unitronics (1989) (R”G) Ltd., a publicly traded Israeli company listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The move marks a significant strategic expansion for Amber into the global industrial automation and Industry 4.0 space.
A Strategic Acquisition with Global Reach
Unitronics, headquartered in Israel, is a leading player in industrial automation, offering a wide range of solutions including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), PLCs with integrated HMIs, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), servo drives, SaaS-based UniCloud, and Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms with embedded business intelligence.
In 2024, the company reported a turnover of approximately USD 57 million with robust EBITDA margins of 30%. Its global footprint is anchored by strong sales across the United States and Europe, which together contribute over 95% of its revenues. Unitronics is currently valued at a market capitalization of USD 110 million.
Enhancing Synergies and Market Access
Amber Group’s acquisition aligns with its strategic objective to diversify into industrial electronics, beyond its current portfolio of consumer durables, telecom, wearables, automotive, energy meters, and defence electronics.
The partnership is expected to drive synergies across design, development, manufacturing, and marketing. Unitronics will leverage IL JIN’s electronic manufacturing expertise and Amber’s pan-India presence to expand its footprint in India and deepen integration for localized production. This will also enhance global competitiveness and reduce supply chain dependencies.
