Advent International to invest ₹3,150 crore in Yatharth Hospitals for 24.9% stake

Global private equity firm Advent International has agreed to invest ₹3,150 crore of primary capital in Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services Ltd for a 24.9% stake in the company.

The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, will make Advent a significant minority shareholder in the listed hospital chain. The investment is entirely primary capital, with the funds being raised by Yatharth Hospitals.

Yatharth Hospitals, founded in 2008, operates a network of nine multi-speciality hospitals with around 2,800 beds and an overall announced capacity of approximately 3,250 beds. The company has expanded its network through a combination of organic expansion and acquisitions.

Following the investment, the Tyagi family will remain the company’s largest shareholder.

Advent said it has made more than 55 healthcare investments across 17 countries over the past 35 years. Its healthcare investments in India include Apollo 24/7, Cohance, Felix Pharma, Bharat Serums and Vaccines and Care Hospitals.

Yatharth Hospitals has a presence across the National Capital Region, including Noida, Greater Noida, Noida Extension, Greater Faridabad, New Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram, as well as Jhansi-Orchha in Madhya Pradesh and a growing presence in Agra.
