Ultramarine and Pigments Ltd. announced that its Board of Directors has approved a plan to expand the production capacity of its pigments plant. This move will increase the plant’s total capacity by 1,200 metric tons (MT), bringing its overall capacity to 7,200 MT. The expansion aims to address increasing demand in both domestic and international markets.
The capacity expansion project involves debottlenecking the existing facility, with an investment of Rs. 25 crore. Currently operating at 85% of its 6,000 MT capacity, the enhanced setup will boost production by approximately 20% within six months, with completion targeted for May 2025. Financing for this expansion will come through a mix of internal accruals and debt.
This strategic investment aligns with Ultramarine and Pigments Ltd.’s commitment to meeting growing market demand and maintaining its competitive edge. The company is a key player in the manufacturing of pigments and surfactants, with applications spanning paints, inks, plastics, detergents, and cosmetics.
