In a boost for the ethanol sector, Associated Alcohols & Breweries Limited and BCL Industries Limited have both secured significant allocations in tenders floated by India’s Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) under the Ethanol Blended Petrol Programme (EBPP) for the Ethanol Supply Year (ESY) 2024-25.
Associated Alcohols & Breweries Limited has been awarded an allocation of 29,724 kiloliters of ethanol to supply to various locations across India. This contract reinforces the company’s presence in the ethanol supply chain, aligning with the government’s push for cleaner fuel alternatives.
BCL Industries Limited, along with its subsidiary Svaksha Distillery Limited, has also secured a substantial allocation of 18.25 crore liters of ethanol for ESY 2024-25. This marks a 17% increase from its previous allocation of 16.94 crore liters in ESY 2023-24. The rise in allocation is attributed to an additional production capacity of 100 kiloliters per day (KLPD) added by Svaksha Distillery Limited in the 2023-24 financial year.
These contracts highlight the growing role of Indian ethanol producers in supporting the country’s transition to renewable energy sources.
