Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Secures ₹103 Crore Pipeline Contract for Chennai Desalination Project

In a major infrastructure development, Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Limited has announced the receipt of a significant turnkey contract worth ₹103.07 crores from JWIL Infra Limited, marking a key milestone in the company’s growing project portfolio.

The contract is part of a larger project awarded to JWIL by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) for the development of the 400 MLD Desalination Plant at Perur, located along the East Coast Road (ECR), south of Chennai. Specifically, Vishnusurya will be responsible for the supply, laying, shoring, testing, and commissioning of mild steel (MS) transmission pipelines, extending from the Perur desalination facility to the Porur Head Works, as part of Package No. CP3-A. The scope of work also includes associated civil construction and services.

The project carries a timeline of 17 months for execution from the date of the contract. Upon completion, it will form a crucial backbone for the transportation of potable water generated by the desalination plant to central distribution systems in Chennai.

This initiative is part of the state government’s broader efforts to enhance water security and infrastructure resilience in the Chennai metropolitan region, which has been grappling with periodic water shortages due to erratic monsoons and rapid urban expansion.

The awarding entity, JWIL Infra Limited, is the principal contractor executing the full scope of the CP3-A package under CMWSSB’s ambitious water infrastructure initiative. Vishnusurya’s participation in this high-profile project reflects its technical capability and growing reputation in urban infrastructure and pipeline engineering.
