Texmaco Rail Secures ₹219.18 Crore Signalling Contract from Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited has secured a major contract worth ₹219.18 crore from Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. for signalling works under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project Phase IIIA (MUTP-IIIA).

 

The scope of the contract includes the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of signalling equipment and systems for a proposed suburban railway line in Mumbai. The project involves deploying advanced signalling systems that will improve operational safety, enhance line capacity, and support efficient train movement across Mumbai’s heavily congested suburban rail network.

The Mumbai Urban Transport Project Phase IIIA (MUTP-IIIA) is part of a broader infrastructure modernization program aimed at strengthening Mumbai’s suburban railway system, one of the busiest commuter rail networks in the world. The project focuses on developing new suburban rail corridors, upgrading signalling systems, and increasing network capacity to reduce congestion and improve commuter safety and reliability.

 

MUTP-IIIA is being implemented by Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation in coordination with Indian Railways and is designed to support long-term urban mobility and accommodate rising passenger demand in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
