India’s leading EV charger manufacturer, Servotech Power Systems Ltd., has entered into a strategic partnership with Germany-based LESSzwei GmbH (LESS2) to develop and deploy 100% solar-powered EV charging infrastructure for micromobility solutions such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes in urban areas across Germany.
The initiative, named “EnerMAAS”, aims to create a sustainable and scalable EV charging ecosystem utilizing advanced AI-driven energy management systems to optimize energy usage and minimize environmental impact.
Project Highlights
Under the EnerMAAS project, existing photovoltaic systems and energy storage will be transformed into innovative street charging points (BIKE-Ports). These solar-powered BIKE-Ports will ensure self-sufficient and 24/7 reliable energy for micromobility users.
Each station will feature a charging capacity of 3.3 kW, allowing four two-wheelers to be charged simultaneously. The initiative is supported through grant financing from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and will span a duration of 2.7 years.
Roles and Deployment
- Servotech Power Systems will oversee the manufacturing and supply of solar-powered EV charging stations.
- LESSzwei GmbH will focus on developing AI-based energy management systems and app technology for the project.
The initial deployment will involve 100 charging systems, with two stations to be set up in each of the 50 selected cities across Germany.
