Salasar Techno Engineering Limited (STEL) has been awarded two major contracts aggregating to approximately ₹695.18 crore by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for works related to power distribution infrastructure development in Himachal Pradesh, the company said in a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The contracts pertain to loss reduction works under the Revamped Reforms-based and Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) for the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL). The projects will cover the Mandi, Bilaspur, Kullu and Hamirpur operation circles in the central zone of the state.

Under the first contract, valued at approximately ₹524.99 crore (inclusive of GST), Salasar will execute a Service Support and Procurement Management assignment for the procurement of electrical and mechanical items required for strengthening the distribution infrastructure. The second contract, estimated at around ₹170.19 crore (inclusive of GST), involves the erection works necessary for the development of the distribution network as part of the loss reduction programme.

Both contracts have been awarded by a domestic entity and will be executed over a period of 20 months, as per the general conditions of contract. Salasar Techno Engineering stated that the order win reinforces its capabilities in power distribution infrastructure development and expands its presence in RDSS-linked projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing losses in India’s electricity distribution sector.
