JTL Industries Begins Operations at RCI’s Manufacturing Plant in Strategic Expansion Move

JTL Industries Limited (JTL), one of India’s fastest-growing steel tube manufacturers, has officially commenced operations at RCI Industries & Technologies Limited’s (RCI) plant after receiving approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). This marks a significant step in JTL’s expansion strategy, particularly in the copper and brass alloys segment.

JTL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RCI to produce up to 200 metric tons (MT) of copper and brass alloys per month through a job-work arrangement. RCI, a listed entity with a market capitalization of ₹9 crores, operates a 27,000-square-meter manufacturing plant in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, with an installed capacity of 15,000 MTPA for copper and brass strips, of which 6,000 MTPA can be used for value-added production.

A Strategic Move Towards Defence Manufacturing

This high-value acquisition aligns with JTL’s ambition to expand into new industrial sectors, particularly defense manufacturing. With India emphasizing self-reliance and indigenous production through the “Make in India” initiative, JTL sees this as an opportunity to supply bullet casings and other non-ferrous metal products essential for the defense sector. Once the final transaction closure is approved by the NCLT, JTL will assume full ownership of the RCI plant, which is expected to contribute significantly to the company’s topline by FY27.

Management’s Perspective

Commenting on the milestone, JTL’s management stated:
“We are delighted to begin production at RCI’s plant following the honorable NCLT’s approval. This strategic move allows us to enter new market segments, forge new customer relationships, and enhance our presence in the copper products sector. Leveraging RCI’s manufacturing expertise will open avenues for growth and strengthen our position in the industry.”
