J. G. Chemicals to Invest ₹100 Crore in Zinc Facility Expansion at Dahej

  1. G. Chemicals Limited, one of India’s leading zinc oxide manufacturers, has approved a capital expenditure of ₹100 crore to set up a new zinc chemicals facility at Dahej, Gujarat, as part of its strategy to diversify geographically into Western India.

The proposed plant will add 40,000 MT per annum of capacity, expanding the company’s zinc chemicals production from the current 69,984 MT per annum to nearly 110,000 MT per annum. The facility will manufacture a wide range of products, including zinc oxides, zinc sulphates, and other high-performance zinc chemicals, enriching the company’s product mix and strengthening its market presence.

The expansion will be executed in phases, with Phase 1 expected to commence in the first half of FY27. The project will be financed entirely through internal accruals and is projected to generate approximately ₹900 crore in additional revenues over time.

Commenting on the development, the company said: “With customer demand on the rise, this expansion at Dahej will enable us to better serve the Western India market while consolidating our leadership in zinc chemicals.”
