Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) has officially commenced production at its state-of-the-art 30,000 TPA Chlorotoluene Plant in Dahej. The project, built with an investment of ₹350 crore.
The newly operational facility is expected to generate an annual revenue of approximately ₹400 crore at full production capacity, based on current market rates. The plant is set to significantly enhance GACL’s specialty chemicals portfolio while catering to growing domestic and international demand for chlorotoluene and its derivatives.
Chlorotoluene is widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, dyes, and specialty chemicals, making this plant a crucial step in strengthening India’s chemical manufacturing capabilities. The project aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of expanding its product offerings while supporting the “Make in India” initiative.
