- Major order: Greenfield EPC contract for a gas-insulated substation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region
- Total order inflow: ₹2,429 crore year-to-date
- Recent momentum: Orders worth ₹1,394 crore secured in the last fortnight
Transrail Lighting Limited (BSE: 544317; NSE: TRANSRAILL) has secured new orders worth ₹408 crore, led by a greenfield engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project for a gas-insulated substation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Announced on October 14, 2026, the latest wins also include several domestic orders. The additions have taken the company’s year-to-date order inflow to ₹2,429 crore, strengthening its project pipeline across domestic and international markets.
MENA substation project leads new orders
The major contract involves a greenfield EPC project for a gas-insulated substation (GIS) using advanced technology. The project highlights Transrail Lighting’s capabilities in executing technically demanding power infrastructure assignments for international customers.
GIS technology uses gas-insulated equipment to provide electrical insulation and switching functions, enabling substations to be designed with a more compact footprint than conventional air-insulated alternatives in suitable applications.
Alongside the international project, the company has secured other domestic orders, supporting its presence across multiple markets.
₹1,394 crore orders secured in a fortnight
Transrail Lighting’s latest announcement follows a strong order-winning period. According to the company, it secured orders worth ₹1,394 crore over the preceding fortnight, taking year-to-date order inflow to ₹2,429 crore.
Commenting on the development, Randeep Narang, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transrail Lighting, attributed the order momentum to rising transmission and distribution (T&D) spending worldwide. He said the company was pursuing balanced growth across domestic and international markets and across its products and services.
Transmission and distribution remain core business
Transrail Lighting is an EPC company with around four decades of experience in power transmission and distribution. Its operations span transmission lines, substations, civil construction, railways, solar projects, and poles and lighting.
The company also operates manufacturing facilities in India for galvanised lattice towers, overhead conductors, including high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors, and galvanised monopoles. It has a tower-testing facility supporting its transmission infrastructure business.
The ₹408 crore order win adds to the company’s recent contract momentum, with the MENA substation project providing exposure to an advanced-technology international assignment. The conversion of the enlarged order inflow into revenue and profitability will depend on project execution, delivery schedules, costs and contractual milestones.
