Rajesh Power Services Limited (BSE: 544291) has secured turnkey contracts worth ₹471.92 crore, including taxes, from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) to strengthen electricity distribution infrastructure across Gujarat.
Announced on October 12, 2026, the contracts cover the conversion of existing 11 kV high-tension overhead lines into medium-voltage covered conductor (MVCC) networks and the development of underground cable networks at various locations under MGVCL’s SI Scheme Robust-III. The projects have an execution timeline of 18 months.
The latest order adds more than 10% to Rajesh Power Services’ existing order book, taking its aggregate order book close to ₹4,000 crore. The contracts expand the company’s project pipeline and provide revenue visibility over the execution period, subject to project milestones and contractual terms.
Focus on power distribution infrastructure
The projects involve upgrading electricity distribution networks through covered conductors and underground cabling, which can help improve network reliability and strengthen distribution infrastructure.
Rajesh Power Services operates as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in the power transmission and distribution sector. Its portfolio includes turnkey gas-insulated and air-insulated substations, extra-high-voltage power cables, transmission lines, distribution systems, and operation and maintenance services.
The company executes projects across several states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
Commenting on the development, Kurang Panchal, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajesh Power Services, said the order marked an important milestone for the company and strengthened its project pipeline and business visibility. He added that the company would focus on execution discipline, operational efficiency, quality and safety.
What the order means for the company
The ₹471.92 crore award strengthens Rajesh Power Services’ position in electricity distribution infrastructure and adds a substantial contract to its existing execution pipeline. With an order book nearing ₹4,000 crore, the company has a larger pool of secured projects to execute over the coming period.
However, the pace at which this order book translates into revenue and profitability will depend on execution progress, contractual milestones, project costs and working-capital requirements.
