Raghav Productivity Enhancers Ltd (RPEL) has entered into a strategic joint venture with TRL Krosaki Refractories Ltd to establish a 350,000-tonne-per-annum (TPA) silica ramming mass manufacturing facility in Odisha, with an initial investment of around ₹100 crore.
The proposed plant will strengthen RPEL’s manufacturing presence in eastern India and is part of the company’s broader plan to scale its manufacturing capacity to 1 million TPA.
The partnership combines RPEL’s patented silica ramming mass manufacturing technology and market presence with TRL Krosaki’s quartzite resources and regional presence. The Odisha facility will have long-term, exclusive access to quartzite from TRL Krosaki’s mines, providing the company with greater raw-material security and supporting consistency in product quality.
The location is also expected to bring RPEL closer to key consumption centres in eastern India, potentially reducing delivery timelines and improving supply-chain efficiency and landed costs for customers.
RPEL currently has a group manufacturing capacity of 534,000 TPA and serves customers across 26 states in India and more than 40 countries. The company said the JV will provide a platform to deepen its presence in East India and support its longer-term capacity expansion plans.
Under the arrangement, RPEL will receive royalty for the use of its patented manufacturing technology, while TRL Krosaki will contribute its raw-material resources and regional industry expertise.
