Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a new maize processing unit in Nashik district, involving a capital expenditure of around ₹500 crore.
The proposed facility will have a maize grinding capacity of 1,200 tonnes per day and will manufacture maize starch and its derivatives. The company said the project is aimed at expanding its production capacity and strengthening its market presence.
However, further steps towards setting up the facility will be taken after the Maharashtra government provides a timeline for the necessary infrastructure required for the project.
The company signed the MoU on September 8, 2026. No project commissioning timeline has been disclosed.
