EMS Limited emerges as L-1 bidder for ₹1,298 crore Jodhpur sewerage project

New Delhi: EMS Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L-1) for a ₹1,298 crore sewerage project awarded by the Municipal Corporation Jodhpur, the company said in a regulatory filing on August 17.

The project, valued at ₹1,298.01 crore including GST, involves laying new sewer lines in left-out areas of Jodhpur city as well as the redesigning and rejuvenation of old and damaged sewer lines and the lateral sewerage system.

According to the company, the order value includes GST but excludes operations and maintenance (O&M) costs of approximately ₹6.9 crore.

The project is scheduled to be executed over a period of 24 months.

The contract has been awarded by the Municipal Corporation Jodhpur, making it a domestic order. EMS said neither its promoters, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract. The company also said the project does not fall under related-party transactions.

EMS, however, clarified that it has so far received the L-1 status and will provide further updates upon receipt of the formal Letter of Award (LoA).

The order adds to EMS Limited’s portfolio of urban infrastructure and water and wastewater management projects. The company is engaged in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, sewerage systems and related infrastructure.

The ₹1,298 crore project represents a significant addition to the company’s order pipeline and comes amid increased spending by urban local bodies on sewerage and water infrastructure.

EMS said it would update the stock exchanges on further developments relating to the project and the receipt of the Letter of Award.
