Renewable energy solutions provider Inox Wind Ltd (IWL) has secured a 200-megawatt (MW) turnkey wind energy project from NLC India Ltd, further strengthening its position in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
The contract, valued at approximately ₹1,600 crore, marks a repeat order from the state-owned power producer and is expected to be executed over a period of 24 months from the date of the letter of award.
Under the agreement, Inox Wind will undertake the end-to-end execution of the project, including the supply of wind turbine generators, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities, as well as operations and maintenance services after commissioning.
Following the latest order win, the company’s total order book has increased to 4.7 gigawatts (GW), comprising projects from commercial and industrial customers, public sector enterprises and independent power producers.
Commenting on the development, Sanjeev Agarwal, chief executive officer of Inox Wind, said the contract reflected the company’s growing capabilities in executing large-scale renewable energy projects and highlighted the increasing demand for integrated wind energy solutions.
The order comes at a time when India is accelerating the expansion of renewable energy capacity to achieve its long-term climate goals and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The government has set ambitious targets for increasing the share of clean energy in the country’s overall power generation mix, creating significant opportunities for developers and equipment manufacturers.
Part of the INOXGFL Group, Inox Wind operates manufacturing facilities across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The company manufactures blades, tubular towers, hubs and nacelles and currently has an annual manufacturing capacity of about 2.5 GW.
Its subsidiary, Inox Green Energy Services Ltd, manages operations and maintenance services for renewable energy assets, while another unit, Inox Renewable Solutions, provides engineering, procurement and construction services for wind power projects.
The latest contract is expected to provide greater revenue visibility for the company while reinforcing its presence in the domestic wind energy market.
