Mumbai, June 1: Alfa Transformers Ltd has secured a ₹63-crore order from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL) for the supply of 12,000 units of 11 kV/0.433 kV three-phase 10 kVA distribution transformers during FY27.
The company informed stock exchanges that it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) dated May 27, 2026, from the Gujarat power distribution utility under its Common Procurement Programme (CPP) tender for 2026-27.
The order involves the supply of aluminium-wound transformers using CRGO and amorphous core technology. The contract is domestic in nature and is scheduled to be executed during 2026-27.
According to the master Letter of Acceptance issued by MGVCL on behalf of the state’s four power distribution companies (DISCOMs), the total order quantity of 12,000 transformers has been allocated among Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL), Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL), Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (UGVCL) and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL).
Of the total quantity, PGVCL has been allocated 8,418 units, followed by UGVCL with 1,894 units, MGVCL with 1,015 units and DGVCL with 673 units.
The unit end price, including 18 per cent GST, stands at ₹52,504.10 per transformer. The contract carries an IEEMA price variation clause, with November 1, 2025, as the base date.
As per the terms of the order, supplies are to be completed within seven months in equal monthly lots after a commencement period of 45 days from the issuance of individual Letters of Acceptance by the respective DISCOMs. The final delivery schedules will be determined by each utility based on their requirements.
The utility has also stipulated a performance guarantee equivalent to 3 per cent of the contract value for satisfactory execution of the order.
