Emami Limited has announced that its Board of Directors has approved the acquisition of the remaining 73.5% stake in Axiom Ayurveda Private Limited (AAPL) for an aggregate consideration of up to ₹200 crore. Upon completion of the transaction, Axiom Ayurveda will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emami.
Currently holding approximately 26.5% stake in AAPL, Emami’s move to acquire the balance equity will result in 100% ownership of the company. The transaction is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026, and will be executed through cash consideration.
Axiom Ayurveda, incorporated in November 2019 and based in Haryana, operates in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) segment, with a focus on healthy beverages. The company is known for its proprietary aloe vera pulp-based drinks blended with fruit extracts, along with a growing presence in personal care products. AAPL reported a turnover of ₹110 crore in FY2024-25, compared to ₹107 crore in FY2023-24 and ₹129 crore in FY2022-23. The acquisition is not classified as a related party transaction, and no regulatory approvals are required for its completion.
Strategically, the deal is aimed at strengthening Emami’s presence in the fast-growing healthy beverages segment. Emami, a well-established FMCG player, has a diversified portfolio spanning personal care, healthcare, and wellness products, with leading brands across categories such as skincare, haircare, and ayurvedic healthcare. Axiom Ayurveda’s portfolio of functional beverages and natural ingredient-based products complements Emami’s existing focus on health and wellness, enabling the company to expand into adjacent high-growth categories.
The integration is expected to create strong synergies through Emami’s extensive distribution network, brand-building capabilities, and marketing strength, while leveraging Axiom’s innovative product formulations and niche positioning in the healthy drinks segment. This move aligns with Emami’s strategy to diversify its product mix and tap into evolving consumer preferences toward natural and wellness-oriented products.
