JBM Ecolife Wins ₹5,500 Crore Contract for 1,021 Electric Buses

JBM Ecolife Mobility Private Limited, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Limited, has secured a ₹5,500 crore contract for the procurement, operation, and maintenance of 1,021 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme (Tender-II). The project, awarded by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), includes the development of allied electric and civil infrastructure across 19 cities in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana under the Gross Cost Contracting (GCC) model
 
This initiative aligns with India’s e-mobility vision and reinforces JBM Auto’s commitment to sustainable urban transportation. The project is backed by a Payment Security Mechanism (PSM), ensuring timely payments to bus operators and fostering financial stability in the sector.

CESL, a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), is a government-backed entity leading the deployment of sustainable mobility solutions in India. EESL, under the Ministry of Power, focuses on energy efficiency projects and large-scale clean energy initiatives, including electric mobility, smart metering, and LED adoption programs. Together, CESL and EESL are playing a crucial role in accelerating India’s transition toward green energy and sustainable transportation.
 
With this new contract, JBM Auto’s total order book for electric buses has crossed 11,000 units, solidifying its position as a key player in India’s e-mobility revolution. The company remains committed to achieving its Net Zero 2040 goal, contributing significantly to cleaner, more efficient public transportation in India.
